Community Impact November 2025

Rebuilding Together Anne Arundel County recently assisted a client residing in Laurel, MD. This individual is an elderly cancer patient living alone. During the initial home assessment, mold was identified in the basement ceiling, which the client reported developed after a previous kitchen water leak. While the original leak was repaired, residual water collected in the ceiling, leading to significant mold growth. In addition to addressing the mold issue, it was determined that the client required a water f iltration system in her kitchen, as recommended by her oncologist to support her recovery. Alongside the mold remediation provided by RTAAC, a new water filtration system was installed in the kitchen, and new boards were fitted around her flower bed. The client, who enjoys gardening, had expressed concern that the original boards were rotten and deteriorated. Upon project completion, the client expressed sincere appreciation, stating, "Donny, I am deeply grateful for the team's e orts. Having access to clean air and water during my cancer recovery is invaluable, and I sincerely thank everyone involved for their contributions."
